Art Start 1- Banksy

In my Graphics class we have begun these daily assignments called 'art starts', where we analyze and illustrate or write about a quote or other work of art. Today's was Banksy's "Cancelled Dreams", which can be found a few posts back on my blog. The work, at least in my mind, reflects how today's society seems to hinder our ability to go after what we want and forces us to be content with what we have; breaking our will to aspire from our desires.

The Sandman (unofficial) Issue #76

In my graphic arts class this week, we were faced with the task of creating an original cover for the Sandman comics as if we were continuing the series. "The Man in the Box" would have been the 76th issue, and would be telling of Daniel's internal struggles as he takes over where Morpheus left off.
I used the Burn and Dodge tools to change the shading on the wood, lock, and eye.

Invention step 1

Illustration Friday's subject for the past week was "Invention." It's past due, but I still want to continue this. There won't be as much time to work on this now due to the subject changing to "Nefarious."
