Next Project- Fairy Tale illustration.

The next project I have begun in my Graphic Arts class is an original but inspired illustration of a fairy tale. I plan on illustrating Death's Messengers by the Brothers Grimm. you can read the story here. The style that we must mimic and leave our impression on is none other than the style of Camille Rose Garcia, whose work can be found here.

Art Start- Lewis Carroll

This has to be the one quote from Alice in Wonderland that i can recall. I do not remember exactly when it was said or why, but it conveys quite the message. The only way to fight and escape this cold and cruel reality is to retreat within ourselves, into our imagination. Our place of safety and warmth, a place of calm and freedom. We can be who we want to be and do what we want to do in our imaginations without question. We can don the wings of freedom and fight against this oppressive reality with a weapon we all possess- imagination.

Art Start- Einstein

Albert Einstein, quite an intelligent man. He must have read fairy tales. Anyways, fairy tales are full of real life situations hidden under the fantasy of dragons, faeries, or evil magic. They teach you to lie and get away with it and get out of trouble in general. Fairy tales show that honesty is key in some situations, or that you need some degree of pride to persevere.

Art Start 4- Poe or Poe?

I have nothing to interpret from this at the moment. However, as I looked into the quote, I found that it is actually lyrics from a song called "Terrified Heart" by a musician called Poe. Not Edgar Allan Poe, a different one. Quite easily confused, people spread it as one of Edgar's works.

Art Start 3- Ralph Waldo Emerson

Everyone has their own perception of beauty, but no matter the definition, art is always beautiful to someone.

Art Start 2- Shakespeare

                                                               "Love all,
                                                               Trust a few,
                                                               Do wrong to none"
                                                                 -Shakespeare

This quote here... has a deep meaning somewhere. It promotes me to reflect on any decisions I've made, such as choosing to trust someone with too much and they betray me. Also times that I have chosen to keep trusting someone with my heart and keep on getting hurt. Times I have spited someone that never wronged me.

Nefarious

Recently, Illustration Friday chose "Nefarious" as its weekly subject. Although I am way too late to post this to the site, here is my illustration for it. There are many viewpoints on Death, and quite a popular one is the idea of it being an evil force. Death is the perfect image of evil as it is not quite enjoyed by many,
